EPC Project Manager
Hecate Energy is seeking an EPC Project Manager to facilitate the project execution and construction management for solar and storage projects for Hecate Energy’s 50 GW development project pipeline. The specific responsibilities and compensation package for this position will be commensurate with experience. This position will be based in Chicago, IL and report to the Senior Director of EPC.
Responsibilities
- Execute a portfolio of Solar, Battery Energy Storage and Wind Projects ranging from 100 MW up to 1000 MW including Preconstruction activities from 10% engineering to IFC and mobilization as well as Construction Management through the Construction Period.
- Serve as the project lead, overseeing extensive cross-functional project teams. Supervise less experienced Project Managers who lead individual projects. Oversee consultant teams supporting projects.
- Adept at understanding, implementing and managing EPC contracts. Anticipate, mitigate, and negotiate Owner change order risks and impacts.
- Identify and track project issues and details, and ensure they are addressed.
- Develop and manage project budgets, goals, timelines, and deliverables for projects. Monitor and report project progress, risks, and challenges.
- Actively contribute to the regional strategy and internal improvement initiatives.
- Review and consolidate information and insights across disciplines into a financially optimized cohesive project design and execution strategy.
- Understand significance of codes, design standards, and technical requirements for utility scale project design, and ensure they are met throughout the engineering, procurement, and construction process.
- This position will include travel to project sites and other locations to support site evaluation and construction efforts.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in a relevant field. PMP or other Project Management certifications are a plus.
- 3+ years of project management experience.
- Experience leading relationships and negotiations with external partners, such as EPC contractors, equipment vendors, technical consultants, and external engineering firms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for renewable energy.
- Comfort bringing sense to ambiguity and driving forward one’s technical initiatives.
- Ability to travel for site visits or meetings as needed (up to 25%).
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Self-awareness of one’s quirks and appreciation for those of teammates.
